Puffin Cottage, Lesbury, Northumberland

We know this area well and chose to stay in this particular village due to its handy location and because we are particularly fond of the The Coach Inn.
Puffin Cottage was everything we'd hoped for and more. It is a stones throw from The Coach Inn. We believe it has only been let since April this year and had obviously been completely renovated before that. The whole place is decorated to a really good standard. The kitchen is well equipped with quality white goods and equipment. Nice bathroom with a big bath (towels are provided) Fairly spacious living room / diner with a wood burning stove. Kindling and a basket of logs are provided and you can purchase more logs from the garden store using an honesty box to pay. The bedroom is small, but the bed is very comfortable. The wardrobe is more than adequate for two people with loads of hangers and there is further storage in the hall cupboard.

Outside there is plenty of private space including a lawned area. There is a large patio table and chairs and in the garage there is a barbecue, lounger chairs and even a free standing hammock!
It accepts 1 well behaved dog as long as it is not left alone in the cottage. Ours loved the wood burning stove!
You should, however, note that whilst the garden is private it is not secure as the garden and driveway are as one. The only other slight negative, and we do mean slight, is the tight turning from the main drive to the parking at the back of the cottage. We have a Mondeo Estate and it did take a bit of manoeuvring to get in and out.
Overall, we thought the cottage was excellent and very good value. If we visit the area again we will certainly look to book this cottage
